Hola,
Another week has come and gone! It's been a rollercoaster this week. We have some really solid investigators but they don't want to commit to a date! So frustrating. So... we dropped them. It was a leap of faith. It was hard because they said that it was something so special that they wanted to decide when they are ready and wanted to do it. But we had taught all the lessons and they couldn't progress without a date. It was hard. BUT a blessing came out of it. We were teaching Javier at the VC and we were going to show him a mormon message that we had planned on... but I went to go play it and this one stuck out to me, "pioneers".. what? Random. My heart was pounding and I knew I had to play that one but I didn't know why. So I bit my lip and looked at Sister Valladares and played it thinking she would be mad because that wasn't what we had planned. Anyway, the video was about modern pioneers so after it played, my companion said, "do you want to be a pioneer in your family, Javier?" He told us that he had never thought of it that way. We read a scripture and afterwards he said, "I know I need to get baptized, how does it work, how do I do it?" He started to laugh because he KNEW how much I had tried to set a date with him and my reaction was apparently pretty funny. We kept our cool until we got in the car and shut the door and then we screamed and... screamed till we got home. It was fun. I know that was a blessing of dropping and taking a leap of faith. Especially with our investigator Luis- the one that passes out the hymn books every Sunday. I think it was good that we dropped him though because I think he had some other motives with meeting with us. When Sister Valladares is talking he still looks at me... it was kinda uncomfortable. But... I still think he will get baptized.
After zone soccer I saw 2 people starting to clean the whole church building so I walked passed but then thought... mom would be so mad. So I asked if we could help and then the zone leaders overheard and got the whole zone to help. So that was good. "Many hands make light work"
The VC is getting so busy! It's really fun and we are starting to get ready for Christmas! Sister Valladares and I sing christmas songs in the car- I think that has to do with the music fast. We still don't know why we are doing the music fast, but oh well. I had some pretty sick people call in mormon.org that kinda scarred me.. but we just hang up. We also get some really prepared and ready people, so I guess that evens it out.
Anyway, that was the week. Hope everyone had a good one :)
The chapter is 2 Ne 4- Nephi's Solmn. I was thinking about true repentance and as missionaries... we don't really do anything bad so it's hard (for me anyway) to repent with all my heart, but Nephi... well, he's Nephi.. he didn't do anything really bad either, but he says, "Oh wretched man that I am!" What a stud. Anyway... read it and let me know what you think and don't forget to repent EVERYDAY :)
Love you
